This courses outlined the contributions of multiple schools to contemporary linguistics throughout recent 100 years, including Saussures’s structuralism, American descriptivism, Chomskyan generative grammar, Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, Prague School’s phonology and London School with systemic functional grammar. Through this course I became aware of the incremental accumulation from historical studies of PIE to current linguistics.
